And even if you do know what springs you have, you don't know what the spring rates are. I asked that question some months ago for the various M0XX Porsche springs...nobody knew. Other questions are: are they linear or progressive, what are their free lengths when new, etc?
Euro M030:
FRONT: 177 LBS
REAR: 268 LBS
PSS-9:
FRONT: 225
REAR: 400
H&R Coilover:
FRONT: 290
REAR: 350

More reading to quench my thirst.
I have some spare stock springs. Too bad I don't have a jig to keep them aligned or I could take them to work and characterize them.

I'd gladly pay an extra ~$400.- for new springs to eliminate guesswork on the current springs.
