I've never used the emblem t close the hood, despite reading about using it yeeears ago. I always figured I didn't want to "stress" the badge's mounting. Been pushing the hood closed "just around" the badge. Given I have a car cover that goes on/off daily when parked at work, I figure my "method" of closing the hood either works well or I've been that lucky ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Scott, good to hear it wasn't snagged at the mall. I was at the Saucon mall yesterday as well. I need to check my badge studs, but I use the corners of the bonnet to close.

The way those studs are sort of braised onto the emblem doesn't ensure a long life--particularly if you touch the emblem when closing the hood, and if the nuts are too tight.
I have been closing my hoods for decades by pressing beneath the badge emblem with my knee. No finger prints!

A friend will do it. He did already doors, fenders etc for a Mitsu Evo XIII. His experience is on FB boats so he has a lot of good experience with this type of work. We will use Toray fiber. Havent really gotten the hood started since I am fixing my burnt car
