I am looking for some 5mm hub centric spacers. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi
I was after 6mm Hub centric spacer and could find them, so I designed my own and had them made.
If you want to make them I can send you the design/drawings.
If interested send me your e-mail.
Thanks,

There are no truly hub centric 5mm spacers for a 993. It's simply a flat spacer without a "hub centric" flange protruding from the center. The flange portion of the hub extends out about 10mm, so there is still about 5mm of it that protrudes after a 5mm spacer is installed. Some will say that the maximum flat spacer for a 993 is 7mm, which leaves less than 3mm of flange for the wheel to locate on, although I wouldn't be entirely comfortable with that. Spacers that are truly "hub centric" start at 14mm.

Hi Jumbo3,
You are partially correct, that is why I made my own 6mm hub centric wheel spacers,
so there are 6mm hub centric wheel spacers.
I would put a photo on my post, but I am good at mechanics not computers.
Now weather you have 5mm or 6mm wheel spacers, there is not enough depth in the standard hub fingers to protrude into the wheel, as the standard hub fingers are about 8 to 9 mm, so you would need to have fingers on any wheel spacer to have hub centric fingers protrude into the wheels.
Plus there is about 2 to 3 mm chamfer on the inside of the wheel where the hub centric fingers go.
Hope that all makes sense..

Just out of curiosity, why would new suspension components cause a need for spacers? Is it just an aesthetics issue, or for a technical reason?

according to service bulletin 4440 4/97, "5mm spacers are approved:
993 361 605 00** (For 7J X 17 and 9J X 17)
Note, remove spacer ring when installing emergency spare."
I would hope when the lug nits are fully torqued down over the lug bolts, with the 5mm spacers in place, there would be 0 thread showing, that the lug nuts were fully engaged.
For those of us that have yet to install 5mm spacers, I would love to know if the lug nut full engages?????

I measured available thread with wheels fitted (but lugnuts removed obviously) = 22mm available stud thread.
That is with RH 3.6 wheels fitted, not sure what variance you would expect with different wheels/thickness of wheel centers.
Standard closed end lugnut measured 30mm deep = approx available thread length.

Approved, but are they required? I've seen no interference with mine-is there another reason for them being on the radar?

purely for aesthetics....after installing the new suspension gear, the front tires look as if they've shrunk and there is all this empty space in the front wells, making the car appear skinnier if u will....just trying to figure out what size spacers I need to make the car look "whole"...
