Default Ron's 1997 C2S Arrives Oct 31, 2011!

Central CT is disaster area, so this will be be brief with an update to follow whenever we have power / web restored.

The freak Nor'Easter of 2011 couldn't stop the transporter coming from Springfield, MO! What a great driver with a great attitude. Was able to get to me despite no power in the region, downed trees and wires everywhere, etc. I swear he called in a heavy lift helo! My 993 C2S was in good company, traveling the country with a one owner 1963 356!

I literally have never seen a used car in such good condition. It looks like it just came off the assembly line. Zero sign of moisture ever getting in the engine bay, suspension, etc.

1997 C2S in Guards Red over black partial leather.
17k miles w/ 15k comprehensive service just done during PPI.

Options:
159 Motor Sound
408 Technology Wheels
490 Hi Fi
688 Radio CD
X71 Aluminum Dials
XE3 Self Dimming Mirror
XX2 Footwell Lighting

100% stock, complete service history, new tires, new separate key remotes, etc. 10/10 condition inside, out, mechanically.

Seller was representing a 100% condition car, so they covered the PPI and 15k service at Springfield Porsche. Everything came back stellar with just a few items to be addressed, which the seller took care of. Body / Paint check was perfect, CarFax and AutoCheck came back with top scores and no issues. Brake flush to freshen so I wouldn't have to think about it for 2-3 years. Springfield Porsche was so particular, that they changed certain things like filters not because it was required, but because it was the right thing to do.

I requested the "Vehicle History Report" that any Porsche dealer can tap into via their system. What a wealth of information - about 20x as much as you would get in a CoA. Details like the engine and tranny model and SN, color / interior codes, DME SN, vehicle manufacture and in-service date, etc. My advice to every 993 owner - stop by your dealer, ask service for a printout using your VIN, and have every possible bit of information about your car.

I can't say enough about Corey Jones over at TEAM Motorsports who was fantastic to work with on a somewhat complicated 3-way transaction to take my 09 C2S in trade over a long distance.

The wheels are obviously not the originals, though I happen to have a set of "as new 408's", which will be going on soon. The wheels in the photos are Solid Polished OEM for narrow body. 7.5 x 18 993.362.134.06 ET50 and 10 x 18 993.362.140.04 ET65 (with 23mm spacers). As new and not a spot on them because they went on the car about 2k miles ago. At first I was afraid these were some sort of chromed knock-offs, but they are the real-thing, Porsche made, just highly polished with the Hochglanz sticker on them.

She looks, feels, and sounds fantastic. I just need the roads to be cleared, power to be restored, etc. before I can take a ride around the block, go to emissions and DMV for registration, etc.

Looking forward to providing a more detailed report!

Ron

Looks great, Ron, congrats! I couldn't tell if you're mat-less or not (I see the base carpets in your third pic), but if you are, be sure to get some ASAP. Lloyd's or cocomats.com are my favs. Enjoy in good health!

Good catch on the mats. Those 2 shots of interior / engine were from the seller - the mats were cleaned and were hanging out to dry at the time. So OEM mats are in the car. A few goodies:

Suncoast order for Black "PORSCHE" frame, spare alternator / fan belts, touch-up paint. I also have my 997 cover and battery tender I'll re-task. Also picked up 4x Osram Night Breaker Plus bulbs.

Post better pics when you can, and congrats on finding a car you like.

?s:

No Carrera S on the tach? Is that b/c they are white face?

What's with the Left rear exhaust heat shielding?

Is that body color "Carrera S" emblem on the rear decklid? I thought they were all titanium/grey color?

And no one has made a single comment about lowering it yet.

Congratulations on one gorgeous 993.

Beautiful car, great color, too.

Halloween is the perfect day to take delivery of a 911 ... I bought my first (1980 911SC) on Halloween, 1990. Definitely a treat.
