That is a shame. It does seem like a great idea and I do like the look of it, but those kind of review pretty much kill it for me. It's easy to write off 1 or 2 bad comments, but not that many.
Not sure of the features of the CDR220 - does it have bluetooth for calling? Full iPod/iPhone integration?

LOL, Bluetooth on a 15 year old radio? Nope, doesn't have it. But you can add a Bluetooth device that connects to it. You would need to wire it up, & put up the mic. Best bet is to get a FM one like the Parrot. It just connects to a radio station, for the speakers & the unit is the mic & BT module. Nothing would be permanent in the car.
Or you can just get the stupid little headset & use that.

Sadly V2 is the last update for the US. Over in Europe they still use the TP.
