Default Need some help with this 993

Co-workers sister obtained this car in her divorce settlement.

97 993 turbo'd cab.
13k miles
zero records from the ex.!!
Vin# wpoca2998vs341116
She has no desire in keeping the car and is not sure of the value.
I told her I new of a great group of guys who could give a fair assessment.

My interior shots will need to be redone as the lighting was bad. Car looks good but not sure of the history. does have a roll bar in the back. Any help is appreciated. I can certianly put you in touch with the owner if you desire.

Divorce is always tough. It really hurts the ones we love.

In this case, it was the car itself that suffered the most.

Car looks good.

If the turbo work is real "ruf" then that will help the value...cab is a detractor.

With modified cars, its always tough, but I'd put the value at high $40s.

If it is real there can't be many BTR-2 cabs built.

A google search turned up this old post from 2002 of a car for sale on Ebay.

Sound familiar? http://www.carforums.net/showthread....l=1#post184309

I'm sure a quick phone call to RUF in Dallas would clear up any mystery that surrounds the RUF bodywork and engine mods. They can also provide you with documentation if this indeed is the car mentioned in the 2002 EBAY ad above.

Good Luck! What a great find if it's indeed the real deal!

Very interesting little 'vents' in the nose and the rockers at the rear quarter ... with the forum discussion mentioning the center tow-hook, looks like it is the same car. I wonder what it finally sold for ....

Thanks so far, I'm not interested in the car or making a buck. Just trying to help out a co-worker. I met her for the first time this past sunday and she really know very little about the car. I can put serious inquiries in touch with her if you'd like.

The replies in that thread had the bidding at $80,000 in 2002 dollars

If it checks out with RUF Germany and gets a fresh service, detail, tires, history etc, I would think the current selling price would be at or above $85K

That is a WAG though.

I would agree. If it is a documented RUF conversion, it's quite valuable. Even if it were just a triple black Cab with 13K miles on it, it would be quite valuable .... Think of how Sloan, Holt or RPM would market this car. If it were me, I would look into a consignment with one of them and go for the collector money.

The real Ruf BTRs had those but not the Turbo R conversions. Hard to tell which it might be from the info provided.

If it's not a real ruf conversion, which it probably isn't, could still use some help with an apx. value. Or is ebay the way to go. Anyone run a carfax and see some history on this car?

Alois Ruf spent about 20 minutes looking over SpeedArena and talking with Marc at Rennsport... He was very impressed and I know he would approve :-)
