A quick peek and listen of Ruby taken by my Brother in Law. Go to :22 in. You can hear her "Hughes Racing" built motor over the wonderful music.

CAPTION CONTEST

I might regret this -- especially with creative minds like Ed's involved, who was at the Cantina that night -- but I think this funny photo begs for a caption.

Taken by JoAnne before I even arrived in CA...
IIRC, she said none of the German gents spoke English, that they were so absorbed by the blue 356 that they didn't didn't even notice when the 993 pulled in behind them, but then they all turned around at the same time & forgot the 356 existed:

Ken

Thanks for posting, your friend does great work. I like that you "documented" many of the cars leaving the pits to head out. Thanks again for the links

Dave's really talented. And even though I call him "pro" it's not his day job. Additional bonus for him is that he was there live to watch most of these cars the first time around. (We always talk about how good old Laguna was.) I think he was snapping photos as far back as the late '60s.

I snapped the grid of those races to document how they rolled out for the race. Hopefully the photos of timing and scoring for the grids/warmup/race are readable, too. Puts into perspective how hard some of the cars are still being driven.

Somewhat related, and I'll post up a thread when I've got a chance was my stumbling across Bridgehampton last Friday when wandering around Long Island. Wow. As much as I malign parade laps, I was happy to toodle along at 30mph on the remnants of the front straight, and down into the Millstone corner in the rental car. Oh, and then a tour comprised of vintage Bugattis showed up.

Only other one I saw was posted from the Quail Lodge show and I honestly still don't know if this car is a GT2 or an RSR ... do you? I can't find any references to confirm either.

Dead (analog) clock is right twice a day!

Not sure if you can download full res from that site, but if you (or anyone) wants something let me know.

Looks to be GT2 (check the rear wing's intakes). I'm wondering if that's the GT2 clone posted here before (Rohr/Porschemeister) or a real-deal GT2 or something else entirely.

Edit: After looking at some pictures of the clone ("clone" doesn't do this car justice. LOTS of GT2 Parts on that car) car referenced above, https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turb...hlight=993+gt2, I don't think the car Seinfeld showed up in was the same. The car above (Seinfeld accompanied in several pics) has Euro side markers, amber front corners, and fog lights instead of ducts just as a factory car would have. Begs the question(s): Is it the real-deal? If so, is it "show and display"? How long has it been here? Enquiring minds want to know!
