There was a very interesting article in one of the British classic car magazines about six months ago on this type of cleaning. It looked very promising due to the lack of greasy leftovers. Let me see if I can find it...

hmm, I like the idea, but I do not like the fact that he was blasting away with the open exhaust ports - one or more of them is guaranteed to be open, and then crap will get blown into the piston chamber. That is a no-no for me.
I like the bottom of the car to be clean because 1)It makes it easier to work on 2) You can spot the source of oil leaks easier 3)A clean bolt (especially allen) is less likely to strip if its clean.
