Default Anyone have a Porsche jack for sale?

Everything was complete in Scarlett (like toolkit, pump, bags, etc.) except for the jack - its missing.

I thought I would do a quick post to see if anyone has one they would like to sell...before I start to look wider.

Mind you, in 19 years of 911 owership, I do not think I have have used the jack. Oh crap, now something will happen...

Hey Mike,
I bought a used 944 scissor jack that's basically the same exact one for the 993 Turbo. If you want it, I'll sell it to you for what I paid for it, $65 plus shipping. I'll send you a picture if you want one.

Yes, this is the same jack as mine. They are true scissor jacks .. came as standard on the 928, 944, 964 and 933 widebody's .. of course, as many of us know, the 993 NB cars got that other useless p.o.s.
Anyway, picture is from the above link, the jacks are all the same as is the mating hole in all the cars listed above ...

The oem jack that comes with the 993 is dangerous in my opinion.
I remember using it on slightly uneven ground - and the footing of the jack kicked out.

The correct sissor jack should be in a felt drawstring bag, that depending on where the jack was stored in the trunk will be either be intact or riddled with holes. I only bring mine out for concours events and have a hand full of flatbed towing services on my cellphone just in case.

I think Mike's intent is not to ever have to use the jack (right?), but to have a "complete car". POS or not, it's whatever that came with the car he is after. I'm sure if the Turbo gets a flat, Mike is going to call a flatbed and not use the jack.

I'm offering what I have to help him complete his car since I sold mine with another OEM jack couple months back.

Yes, I understand. The jack you show here is for a narrow body car from the factory, it will not work under the wider rockers of the Turbo ... why Porsche didn't just ship the better scissor design with all cars is a mystery. The larger, better designed scissor jack shown in the pics above is for a Turbo and came from the factory with all widebody cars ... Turbo, 4S and S. To be honest, I don't know if the factory scissor jack for the 993 had a 993 part number ... may have just used whatever the previous model used when the last Revision role in engineering came through .. but mine is a 944.xxx.xxx pn

yes, the reason I still have this single arm jack is that I bought a double arm one from a 928 and replaced it. well, I thought I offer it.

.. so then I'm confused if you're concern is offering a jack that would be 'original' for a widebody car ...

I am definitely confused, and do not have a reference Turbo to look at what is in the original kit.

I like the idea of the "better" jack anyways, and this car will not be in a major concours, so I will go with the one from onefstm.

Cheers,

Mike

well, my fault. I didn't realize WB has a different jack.

So if there is anyone else who wants a NB, single arm jack that doesn't work well from the factory and is likely to drop the car, he/she can have it.
