Default Dead pedal install suggestions?

I received a nice black anodized footrest (deadpedal). Essentially, it is a flat peice of anodized aluminium with holes. It came with a few screws etc but it is really a fabrication job that is up to me to figure out.

I wanted to avoid drilling into the metal of the wheelwell..but want it tight and secure when I put my weight into it...any ideas?

IIRC, mine had 4 or 5 holes, but I attached with only 3. To make an omelet, ya gotta break an egg.

Just drill it. If you ever take it off, you can't see the holes because of the carpet.

I drilled and installed mine with about 3 stainless metal screws. There is nothing to hit behind that lump by the trunk release so you're safe to drill there.

I will drill it in. Do the screws end up in a dry space or do I need to take off the fender liner and put a dab a silicone or similar?

I am looking forward to have a substntial place for my foot too.

Dry space - no need to water seal.

Check out these posts from the 964 forum>>>

If the 993 is the same then you might be trying to screw into the sheet metal where there are holes...

I used clear marine adhesive. It peels from the carpet if I need to remove it in the future without a mark.

Thanks for the advice and the links guys. Will post picts when finished. Looks like Rennline's bends down on right to contour curve for a better fit. Mine? just a flat peice of nice metal.

Note to self...buy Rennline's "designed to fit" stuff in future.
