Angry Slight crack in rear bumper cover

Someone bumped the right corner of my rear bumper. Its got a couple of 3 to 4 inch cracks in it. Should I have it repaired or change the whole cover?
If I do change it, where is the best place to purchase? Thanks, Mike

Sounds like Magdaddy made a road trip to Georgia...

If the cover popped back to its original shape, I'd vote to have it repaired. The cover itself is quite expensive.

In case you decide you want to replace, just saw this on craigs list.

Have a reputable local shop see if it can be repaired first. If you indeed do need another, try to beat up your local Pcar dealership on the price. Shipping will kill you on these. Sunset lists them for a little over $1k, East Coast shipping was around $150. Simply see if your local dealer will match Sunset's price, it's about a 30% discount from list..

I'd be careful with this seller. I've been in contact with him regarding one of the items on his ad. It's like pulling teeth trying to get him to respond to a simple & direct question. He claims to know absolutely nothing about the parts, that's why he's selling them.....

Mike -
A good body shop should be able to fix that for $400 - $600 depending on where you live. I had the same done to mine and also had the bumper pad holes filled to give it the euro look.

Had a crack in my rear bumber as well. When I was the shop for other painting issues, I was asked if I want that taken care of as well. It must not have been a big deal or it wouldn't have been just "tagged on". The shop fixed the crack, repainted and can't even tell. Not sure what the fix for the bumper cost because it was lumped into the cost of everything else I had done. The point is, a good shop can repair the bumpers to like new condition for less than replacement.

While you are in there...It sounds like a good time to go for the Euro bumper.

A Turbo rear bumper would look _really_ stupid on a '995 993 A Euro rear bumper would look equally as bad with US plate.
