Default Best Car Cover?

If I store my "weekend 993" in my a carport, what's the best custom car cover I should get? The carport is a 3-sided brick building that does a fairly good job of keeping the elements out. My concerns are dust, North Carolina temperatures, and the occasional sideways rain that can enter the front part of the carport.

I'd appreciate any recommendations!

I recommend building walls around the carport. Followed by a 2-post lift. And... JK!

If that's not feasible I've had great results with the OEM cover. It's light weight, breathable, and has thick cotton reinforcements on the inside where it meets the bumpers for extra protection. I've been very happy with mine. Initially I didn't think I'll ever use it (came with the car) but it's come in handy several times when I've had to park in a public garage for a few days.

I would go for an outdoor breathable one. There's just too much choice with regards to brands.

I'm searching for car cover (indoor - for dust only) as well. My searching has brought me to the Coverking satin stretch. Only issue I have is cost - $350.00.

I've used the Noah cover available form California Car Cover company for 14 years now, though indoor garage use only. I do believe this product will work well outdoors, too. CCC has a use-table that will guide you. This is NOT a sexy cover, but I do believe it is well made, effective, and a whole lot less than $350.

Give sunset a call and get an outdoor cover. My car has been sitting outside for weeks at a time and the cover barely moves. It should only cost about $160 for the cover, I bought mine earlier in the summer. Part number for N/A cars is 593.993.NA if i recall correctly. (Initially I was sent a non-turbo cover and needed the 508.993.T cover)

COVERKING "Stormproof". Awesome material. Great, custom fit. Lives up to its claims. Check out the site: http://www.coverking.com/t-customcarcoversp.aspx Look for a sale on various internet cos. that carry this brand. I found mine at AJ-USA a couple of yrs. ago. (No affil. w/either co.)

After I added the post, I thought I would search a little harder. How about the covers at Carnewal? They are listed under the "general" tab.

Carnewal. Gert's covers are made by Victoria's Secret. Your 993 will give you Major Wood in this lingerie.

I've had good luck with the Wolf noah covers, especially their customer service.

Shop around online as the price varies and all of them are drop shipped from the manufacturor.

Get one that is cut to fit your car, that is very important. Next get one that is flannel or cotton on the inside to protect the paint.

Sadly when you use the cover, make sure your car is CLEAN, if not the cover will scratch the paint.

+1 on the OEM silverguard cover. Has worked great for me. Drys quickly, easy on/off, fits well.

Ran across this one. Don't know about the company, but I like the cover and the price is right. Don't know if they have outdoor covers for a 993 however.

Personally, I've had flannel lined covers before and found that they inherently pick up and hold dust and grit over time. They then create more of a problem than help. They may be of some benefit in a very secure, clean, dry inside environment.
