Nobody is telling you to quiet down. But, our input on two diversely different Porsches is meaningless to you as to which to buy. You need to seek out these various cars, and determine which one provides you the feel you want. I've got a very hardcore 3.2 (errr.... actually 3.4L now) Carrera, that I LOVE to drive. The fact is, many others would think it is harsh enough to knock your fillings out. Even the 993 and 3.2 Carrera are dramatically different. Then, you step it back to a longhood, and compare it to a 993TT, you're not even on the same scale.
It's about like asking: Do I buy a 997 or a Range Rover, IMO. You need to experience the cars, then decide. Once you're there, ask for advice on which one to buy.

Well yes but if you want a shop that knows Porsches AND can do single stage Glasurit AND can do proper metal work AND can outsource to the top leather shop AND etc etc they are one of only two or three in the country.

I've had direct dealings with Ray Joseph and Tim Holt, both are good guys.
Here's a link for several.

Sloan is down the street from me, I was just there a couple of weeks ago with an out-of-town rennlister visiting CT.
While a lot of the cars may be consignment, he has his own collection in there too. He usually has all of the original paperwork, ownership and maintenance history for the cars in his shop.
If you're looking for a low mileage 993 you will find one there. There are not too many pristine low mileage 993's out there from private parties or from dealers that you're going to find at less than premium prices.
Good luck with the search...if Sloan has anything you're interested, I'd be happy to give you a Rennfax.
