I never had the chance to meet Chuck in person but clearly his character exemplifies what is the very best about Rennlist and why we all come here.
Rest in Peace Sir....thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

****... Sucks to hear about Chuck's passing...
Writing was on the wall but I'm one of those who never give up so I was hoping for a miracle.
It was a long shot but still. In the end though, since it was what it was, for Chuck, he's in a better place now and not suffering.
As I wrote above about Ray, Chuck will be one of those that people will think and talk fondly years and years to come so even though he's gone, he is still in not only his loved ones, but in many, many people's minds and that speaks in volumes about him.
My mind is with his family.
If I, who never even met him, feel bad, and I feel terrible, I can imagine how they feel and how much they miss Chuck. Lots of strength to them.
Godspeed Chuck.

You made me think of Ray (Calvo)...
Here was this guy who I had never met, didn't have any close relationship etc. only had talked with him on-line about various Porsche stuff (not to mention when he schooled my cheapskate *** over something! And don't laugh, those who were on Rennlist that early, pretty much everyone of us were put in to our place by him!) and when I heard about him passing and the days, weeks and months later, every now and then when I'd click on Rennlist, I noticed that i missed him.
Hell, don't know how long ago it happened, it's many years by now but now writing this, made me miss his crusty character again.
I think for guys like Ray, who are real good people and many people get to realize it through on-line, if there's something good about our internet age, is that even when they're gone, they really aren't because there are so many people who remember, read and talk about them on-line.
All the best Chuck, thinking of you.

Robert called me at work to let me know.....
I hate cancer. I hate it. I HATE it.
We are all going to miss him. I knew it wasn't going to be good when he told me last year that it was now in his brain. In a way I am glad that in the end he didn't have to suffer a long painful drawn out time in Hospice. He was a good man, and didn't deserve ANYTHING that he's gone through, but at least when it got to the worse part of his journey, it wasn't too long....
My heart and prayers goes out to Katie and the family right now. Chuck is at peace. no more pain. Katie and the family have to pick up the pieces and go on. Not any easy thing to do when you had someone as wonderful as Chuck in your life.
So sad........

I couldn't find strength to say anything in this thread for the last few days. Tried to look away and not read it. Lost my dad to cancer many years ago and... well... the only thing is that Chuck is not suffering any more.
He will be in our thoughts and memories for a long time. I think that's the best tribute and best complement to a person, period.
