Default I''ve got Motor Sound Mufflers!

I have had my 993 for 4 years and I just checked the part numbers on my mufflers.
993 111 045 07
993 111 046 07

and they are Motor Sound Mufflers!

odd, because I did not have a motor sound airbox, nor do I have option 159 on my sticker. I can only assume that one of the previous 2 owners had them installed.

I had always wondered if my exhaust had been modified as it seemed to be just a tad louder than some other 993s.

Now I wonder if my shift rod is stock. my shifter is pretty solid, no slop, and as far as I know is standard.
Car also came with a strut brace, so one of the POs did some mods.

Factory Option.

option 159 is Motor Sound package, and consisted of:
Airbox; chrome snorkel and additional holes
Mufflers: larger internal bypass

I added the option to my car, mufflers, airbox lid and tips. I wanted a little more exhaust note without annoying resonance on the Interstate. I liked the eye candy of the box and tips.

Time to let Fister do his cutting! I will tell you.... Motorsound with fister I/LPMM gives a great sound without waking neighbors.

Kika just don't do what I did today, I purchased some fab speed mufflers for my car, took my car to the shop so they could install them, put them on the car and the car sounded the same, so my mechanic check the old mufflers and we found out those had already been modified

Well, that actually is why I checked the part numbers, to see what mufflers I actually have, before I go get something else, or mod my current ones. I still haven't decided what I want to do. I like the tone, but I haven't convinced myself I want more volume all the time.

The plan is to drive a pair of factory Gilletes(exchange) down to Fister, take off the factiory motor sounds and install StageIII's.

I have the Motor Sound tips fitted to my C4S. Recently fitted the Motor Sound Airbox cover and love the induction noise. Priced the Motor Sound mufllers and found them too expensive....

Does anyone know how the factory Motorsound mufflers compare to Fister II's in loudness?

Factory motorsound mufflers are not loud compared to Fister StageII's, they are pretty sedate in comparison. I rode in a car with StageIII's and will go that route.

Actually, do a Stage II conversion to the existing MS mufflers will put you between the Stage II and Stage III's.

I still need to hear some II's. Ive been in a car with III's, amd they weren't too terribly loud. No drone either. But, I would still like to be a bit quieter. Ive got loud in Ruby when I want it-she's probably at the level of V's!
