Jig work completed, the shell was lumped onto the rotisserie to finish the welding and dressing of the sills.

And the final job is to tidy up the floorpan. The worst spot was a crush under the chassis leg caused by using a floor jack in the wrong place, so Owen has carefully disected the damaged section and will be replacing it with another piece that has been cut from the undamaged section of floor that we salvaged. The slightly flattened part of the main floorpan will be easily straightened before the new front section is welded in place.

Nice to see you back ... pictures must be on the mountain roads traveling Northwest out of Valencia? Looks spectacular to say the least ... and Tiny's looking good out on the open road .. kind of 'dwarfing' the field there, no? :-)
So, when does this Speedy head out for the e-coat bath? Owen's turning into quite the SpeedsterMaestro at this point with all of these builds!

Yup, I think Owen has a handle on the job now. E-coat is a pain as the plant is booked solid for 6 months, however we're hoping to get the shell in earlier on the grounds that we will already have the subframe carrier made & fitted to the shell when we take it, thus saving a whole chunk of prep time on the line. Fingers crossed.

We cruised under the Pyrenees as well as northern Valencia and down to the Sierra Nevada. I think the shots were taken in Andalucia, north of Malaga.

To paraphrase Forest Gump: "Cars are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you get until you strip one..."

Ain't that the truth?

To be fair, 99% of 993s on the road that have been used will have some form of repair and damage on the floor somewhere or other. In this case RP anticipated the additional work due to the nature of the donor, hence it did not come as a surprise and to be fair was nowhere near as bad as we have experienced.

Getting back to the plot for a moment, here are the photos of the finished floorpan repairs that Owen sorted out last week and one of the new boot floor:
