WOW, sun and heat...
really took their toll on these original speakers...not that they were all that special to begin with I suppose, but still, pretty much finished. I was surprised I was getting any sound out of them at all!
You can see there is only a very little piece of the original 'rubber' suspension left in the top of the speaker. The front mids were even worse. The original tweeters were fine, by design I guess.
Here are the front speakers I installed, took a bit of work with the dremel to be able to use the original covers but it worked out fine. Hid the crossovers in the door pockets like most others have done.
And these were the simplest of all, just plug and play. Oh, I had to remove ( it just pulls off...) the plastic oval ring on the top of the new speaker to allow the original cover to snap down into place, but no dremel req'd!
