Porsche car number 1,000,000 was a police 993, if I am not mistaken. The one now at the Porsche museum.

Thanks, I tried to find another one but no success so far:

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...3s-wanted.html

This kind of color changes a little depending on lighting.

I intend to keep it stock with 17" Cup II wheels.

Either way, straight or mirror image, it doesn't make sense to me.

Help!

Why is the D backwards?

Back in the eighties the Dutch Highway Patrol used Porsche Targas. How they even came up with that car in that climate of constant rain is beyond me.
But they did exist.

The dutch police already started using Porsche in he 60's, they used a modified 356 for highway patrols because it was considered a car that would always be the fastest in high speed chases.

The last "politie-porsche" was a 964 delivered in 1991, the fleet was a mix of targa's and coupes and were piloted by a dedicated force of patrollers. Rumour has it that the chief of police liked the porsches so much because they were aircooled and thus very capable of prolonged driving in reverse to warn drivers of danger ahead.

The patrollers driving the targa's would always wear a bright orange helmet and goggles in the rain.

I will never forget the day my dad was pulled off the highway for speeding. Because he left his wallet at home the police escorted him to our house and me and my brother were allowed to sit in the backseat of the white and orange 964 targa Politie-Porsche. Best day of my childhood!

Those were the days, the Police drove Porsches, taxis were Mercedes and no seatbelts in the back.....

(Sorry for the grammar)
