The same way we feel about Chinese knock-off GT3 seats and non-RUF, 993 twin turbo motor installations in NA 993's...not a particularly smart idea, but do whatever makes you happy.

wheels are very much personal taste but I think the common theme of this board is chrome is too "blingy" and not in good taste on a classic 993. My car had chrome wheels on it when I bought it. the chrome was delaminating and the tires would not hold air. had to have the wheels completely refinished and then I sold them. I would never own chrome wheels for technical or appearance reasons... just my opinion of course

Are you certain they're chrome? They could be polished? If you want to powdercoat the wheels, they need to be media blasted in order for the powder to have a surface to bond to. Once blasted and cleaned, the wheels are sprayed and if ferrous electrostatically sprayed with powder then placed into an oven and baked to a hard finish.
I have polished fuchs on the SC, PITA to keep polished to a mirror finish. I would not consider plating them as the chrome process changes the metallurgical composition of the wheel on forged wheel such as the fuchs and is not recommended.

yeah they are chrome. Theres a vendor here in the bay area and the cost to strip chrome and back to alloy is $150 each.

The tires hold moisture as they heat cycle. The moisture causes corrosion under the chrome and the beads leak. Chroming a Porsche wheel is destroying a Porsche wheel.

Any OEM chromed wheel should be considered trash.

A better option is polishing the wheel.
