Pesky sunroof!!!
So I jump in my car this morning to drive to work. Cars in the garage and its raining like crazy outside. The sunroof was open from the day before so I hit the switch to close it and nothing. No movement. No noise. Nothing!!! Fiddled around with the button for a minute or so and it finally closed. What are your thoughts? Faulty switch? Sunroof motor on its way out? Any help would be appreciated!

Behind the zipper in the rear headliner is the electrical plug that goes to the motor. The contacts get corroded and causes the condition you experience. I had this same problem 4-5 years ago, cleaned the contacts, and it's worked perfectly since then. I use mine every day.
Ironically, my wind deflector bracket broke on my way to work this morning. Rough day for sunroofs!

Document your work!! There isn't enough good DIY info on sunroof repairs. Im mortified to even try and remove the trim off the bottom of the sunroof - makes a rottle noise at highway speed in the rear passenger corner. If I push on the roof or on the trim it goes away..probably just need to tighten it but I dont want to screw anything else up by removing and reinstalling!

I've had a similar problem. In my case the "open" direction worked fine but the "close" wouldn't work. You may find a similar thing as time goes on and generally it will worsen.
If so you can replace the switch easily. Or do what I did which was to remove the switch, carefully take it apart and clean the contacts in the switch with a Q-tip. It worked fine for me.
Good luck and let us know what happens!

Had the exact same symptoms, new switch solved it. Rapid, repeated toggling of the faulty switch may work in a pinch

Well its been a week and I haven't had a problem since. I'm sure if its happened before its bound to happen again but until it happens more frequently, i'll just keep my fingers crossed!
