Default FS Black Leather/Aluminum E-Brake Handle and Shifter

Shifter: Leather is in good condition, top of shifter has some scuff marks, plastic inside where the shift **** slides over the shift lever is cracked. It has been glued together and does not affect the operation of the shift ****. The shift **** is held on by an allen head set screw. I didn't realize it was cracked until I took it off.

Pending sale on the e-brake handle. The shifter is still available.

During economical difficult times you're asking that much for a "used" shift ****/brake handle? One can still get these items "new" for an amount close to your asking price but they will be looking much better!

Good luck with your sale!

The OP can ask whatever he likes. If the price doesn't meet your approval, move on. Why does everyone feel the need to take a poke?

Where can you get both a new shifter and a new brake handle for close to $525? The best price I found was $503 for one and $551 for the other. How is $1054 plus shipping close to $525? It seems to me that it is less than half of new price. What am I missing?

I have this option on my 993, and the weight and feel of the shifter is "just right" I love my aluminum shifter.

it was also a pretty pricey option originally, something north of $800 IIRC.

Rob, why do you expect a person with such deep thoughts to be able to count?

Actually, my calculations required higher math functions. For instance, there was addition, then some subtraction, then some work with ratios to determine that my price was less than 1/2 of the new price. (That's a ratio for the mathematically challenged.) Anyway, as your post points out, I expect too much from people. For example, I expected the person whose offer I accepted for the brake handle who said he could pay immediately to actually purchase the brake handle. Instead, the piece of **** contacted me and offered a new lower price. Again, this was after I accepted his offer. I hope this is not the new accepted level of honor and integrity on this forum. I dealt with similar problems the last time I sold parts here. Several people said they would buy certain parts and pay immediately and then simply disappeared. Meanwhile, others contacted me and wanted to buy the parts. So then I was stuck, not sure if I should wait for the first person or sell to the second. I wonder if we need a method in which buyers and sellers could rate each other like is done on ebay. It's a shame that may be necessary, but without some sort of accountability, I'm afraid it's only going to get worse. By the way, the e-brake is still available. What a dick!

On a serious note, we do have a rating system of sorts. It's informal and tends to be stored in our heads, but generally people tend to know who the good and bad buyers and sellers are.

Sometimes there are bad apples, sometimes there are bad circumstances, but overall it's not bad.

I bought my oem aluminum/black leather e-brake lever about a year ago from Broadway Porsche in Texas for just under $300 brand new. So $275 for used is with in $20 of what I paid for new. But it is worth what some one is willing to pay for it. JFFT

These have gone up big time in the last year or so, as the OP says, $500 each is what they will cost you each now (at least its about $500 in the UK)

Same on the matching e-brake handle. Somebody asked the question where can you get these deals for less than a $1,000 - EBAY - $100 brand new, and, of course, Porsche.

Had to speak up here - I feel like the purpose of this forum is to help each other by offering good parts for a reasonable price! Sure, everybody can sell whatever they want for a whatever price but maybe this is not the right place to sell stuff that appears to be "overprized" for it's condition. But again, that's just my opinion!

^^^ Am I reading the document correctly. Purchased in 2005? Are these the prices if you bought today?
