Default Zimmermann "Formula Z" 993 Turbo/RS rotors

Zimmermann (who is an OEM for Porsche rotors) offer these 322 mm floating front rotors for 993 Turbo/RS in their "Formula Z" aftermarket tuning program.

They float on spokes similar to what is seen on Audi R8 and BMW M cars. I can't find a USA vendor. Anyone know where to buy?

They cost 204 Euros in Germany which includes 19% tax = about $285 and are supposed to last a lot longer than stock non-floating Porsche rotors of same size.

Good to know. Put word out with one of the importers I know from the BMW gang on our local list.

Default Ok Lets See Where This Takes Us

I hope this set of rotors are better than the previous versions I've purchased approximately 4/5 years ago. Until I changed to OEMs, I've always had vibration issues with Zimmermanns' disks.

There is a difference between 'OE' and 'OEM'.

Our cars came equipped with Brembo rotors. That is OE, or original equipment.

Zimmermann (and possibly others), are considered OEM - original equipment manufactures. They make parts & items for companies such as Porsche, but are not necessarily used during the manufacturing of the car.

When you purchase new 993 rotors from Porsche, you'll receive Brembo rotors.

Hope that helps.

Correct Andreas, in the UK we tend to use the term Genuine Porsche instead of OE as it is less confusing. And no parts on your car are made by Zimmerman

Shows how old this geezer is, in the olden days, when Brembo was not in the Porsche picture yet, Zimmermann made discs for Porsche.

Not clear in their literature, but the hats may be alloy on these Zimmermann discs or at least those they make for some cars.

They also make a "coated" line that is rust resistant, see links:

Through Porsche, or through a parts vendor?
