Hey before you get to carried away, I'd clean the ISV.

Usually when there are any issues with my car, the first thing I do is give the ISV a good cleaning. Works like a charm.

I will diverge from everyone's opinion. Clearly they are out to get you, Ryan. Don't listen to any of them. it's a simple problem with a simple solution. Just clean the ISV.

That's not very helpful.

We're all trying to help Boy Wonder figure out why his dirty ISV is causing issues with his A/C fan resistor.

Yes, it could be a bunch of d$cks in the ISV, I agree. Still can be cleaned. Just beware, they are probably pretty small d$cks, clean thoroughly.

Just a thought, but all this obsessive/compulsive/**** retentive cleaning of the ISV might be making the problem worse, instead of helping...(I was gonna say exacerbating, but it sounds too much like another word, what with all this talk about d$cks).

Cactus,
Seriously - it would be nice to get this thread back on track. Fluctuations in the operating parameters of the HVAC condenser cooling unit (fan) can at times be attributed to oft-occurring aberrations within the housing of the Idle Speed Control Valve. These harmonic inconsistencies manifest themselves in erratic performance of the condenser fan. A common fix is to increase the relative polarity of the mean deviation.

PM me for any questions.

Just saw thread, and sorry to see you are having problems. I would consider cleaning the ISV, and then giving it a good run. There is clean, and then there is CLEAN.

Hope that helps.

Alcohol is an excellent ISV cleaning agent.
