Although I had the idea for the "God's-eye view" shots, I didn't have the photo skills nor the guts to hang over the edge. Photographer Dan Whelchel had both.

Besides, last time I gave a RLer a ride, he climbed aboard with another, then left me with a check made "to cash" that my bank wouldn't accept 
True story, but no worries -- a great weekend with man & his best friend ^^

Seems you & I had similar hopes to attend Sep 24's FDM drive, but neither of us made it.
I'm aiming to be at Rennsport Reunion IV. If that works & if my parade lap ticket finally arrives: any chance I can chauffeur you around the track?

Since we've brought this back from the dead.............
Here's where mine is residing lately. Top this, you artsy types.
(I've actually driven it a couple of times this week. I suppose it will be at Laguna in two weeks, cracked/pitted windshield and all. When the Pepsi order showed up Friday I actually was sweating it out that the car being a widebody might screw me up. Had to roll before I could break down those pallets, and wasn't coming back to the shop.)
