Default For Sale: '97 C2S - 15,000 miles

I am getting serious about moving up to a 993TT, so my C2S has to go. I bought this car from a fellow Rennlister 14 months ago. I am the 4th owner: First had it from 1997 - 2000 and did 5,000 miles, second bought it as a CPO car (I have the paperwork) and had it from 2000 - 2007 and brought it up to 12,500 miles, the fellow I bought it from had it from 2007 - 2010 and took it to 13,800 miles. I have spoken to the second and third owners personally and both used it as a weekend car only. The current mileage is 14,900. This is a lightly optioned car: Arctic Silver, Black partial leather, CD player, 18 inch twist wheels, lowered suspension, Bird armrest, hood liner, aluminum gauge rings and pedals, 6 disc Sony CD player in trunk. Excellent running car with new battery, hood/trunk struts, tires, 15K service and brake fush all within the last 2,500 miles. Annual service performed 1,000 miles ago. All books, keys, tools, car cover, certificate of authenticity etc. Very nice interior and exterior with no dings or dents. Some minor paint chips. Excellent mechanical condition - just passed annual mechanical and smog testing. I would be happy to discuss details with any serious 'lister. $54,900. There is no hassle to bring the car into the US again as it was originally delivered there and still has the US speedo/odo etc. Thanks

My prediction-- Truspeed, Sloan or one of the others buys it from you for around $50 and we see it on their site for $60+ in a couple of weeks.

Never, since one of those guys may drive in the rain and/or snow.

Not Sloan...all of his cars are "summer miles only"....

^Rome, maybe his best bet would be to work a trade plus cash with one of those guys, if they have a Turbo to his liking.

I am located just outside of Toronto...1 hour from Buffalo and 3.5 hours from Detroit. With 15K miles, it won't be bought by anyone for $50K I can put another 10K miles on it before I need to be in that price range - which wouldn't be a problem for me.

That is one nice 993. I agree with you, don't budge on the price. Not a penny less than asking price.

Beautiful car but I assume you are somewhat negotiable on price.

That's the perfect car you have there! Getting a PPI on exactly the same setup next week. Your price is at fair market. About $5K LESS than the very few comparable C2S cars in the US right now. GLWTS!

Thanks guys. My pricing strategy is always the same. I figure out what the car is "really" selling for (adjusting for condition, options, location etc.) and then price it very close to that number. An educated buyer who actualy has real money to spend - not internet car forum dollars - steps up and we are both happy with minimum hassle. I know this is a tough market for collector cars, being in Canada scares some folks away, and there is a small percentage of 993 enthusiasts willing to spend over $50K for a C2S. So, I will continue driving and enjoying the car with it for sale...if it sells, great. If not, no sweat, I love the car

To answer the PM I received...I have $57,400 in the car before sales taxes (13% up here).

13% WTF

Beautiful ride, I hope you find the right buyer.
In Canada, if you trade it to a dealer can you avoid the taxes on the trade in value?

Thanks Ish. Yes, taxes here suck! We do get a tax break when trading in so that is an option for me next year when I get the new S5 for my DD.

Wow, they pack those town-houses tight in Canada. Hope you like your neighbors.
