For Sale: '97 C2S - 15,000 miles
#47
The last few cars I've bought the seller comes into my Credit Union and a check from my account is drawn in the seller's name. The title is immediately signed over, I get the keys and everybody is happy.
$52k is a great price for that car. Good luck with the sale.

I agree that $52k is fair for your car. Since it is basically identical to my first 993 (except 97 instead of 98), I must admit that it is starting to make me twitch a bit...
You really sure it is as simple as driving it home and registering /paying taxes in the home state? Never bought a car in Canada before, but that is much simpler than I would have guessed.
Just curious...

^^^^Jonathon, although I'm not familiar with the process, as the car was originally a US spec 993, I can't imagine the process being too difficult. Of course I have been wrong before.

It really is that simple! Here is a snipit from the US customers web stie...
Re-Importing A Previously Exported Vehicle
A vehicle taken from the United States for non-commercial, private use may be returned duty free by proving to U.S. Customs that it was previously owned and registered in the United States. This proof may be a state-issued registration card for the automobile or a bill of sale for the car from a U.S. dealer. Repairs or accessories acquired abroad for your vehicle must be declared on your return and may be subject to duty.
I have copies of the TN title, original documents from MA and the certificate of authenticity from PCNA.

Why not? If you're asking $54,900, I find it interesting that you wouldn't sell it for $50K.
After all, most asking prices on used cars usually have wiggle room in them, and less than 10% flex on a 14-year old used $50,000+ car isn't out of line. Plus, since you live in a million dollar neighborhood, it'd seem money isn't in short supply and killing a 50 thousand dollar deal over a few thousand dollars would seem silly, that is, if you're really interested in selling the car.
But, hey, what do I know.
On the other hand, 2 weeks in and the car hasn't sold yet.
Good luck with the sale. It looks to be a really nice example.

Thanks guys. I have a local (Ontario) buyer coming tomorrow to confirm condition and I suspect he will get the car. If not, a dealer has stepped up and said he will take it. Of course, now that I have committed myself to a deal, I had 3 messages from new potential buyers today! Why does that always happen??????????????
For what it's worth, I had more serious interest at reasonable selling prices from dealers than I did private parties...
Taking my time on selecting the right Turbo. I'm still driving the C2 with my new Ruf wheels so all is good I need to change my avatar.
