With the price of scrap metal these days, it might be worth more as scrap, especially if it's filled with lead.

I don't care what their excuse is, it's simply a waste of potential resources. We're such a wasteful and throw-away society and this just proves it even more.

Should we go into the way-back machine and consider how many 356s were scrapped because of a little rust? Hell, one of my customers offered up a sorta-running '59 Convertible D for FREE (circa 1985). Fact was, it would have taken $10K in repairs (at my cost + my free labor) to properly fix an $8K car. Today? No brainer.

Lightening holes. Purely performance oriented I am sure.

If that was the really back in 85, it is even "more true" true today. Given the cost of replacement anything, not to mention the astronomical cost of said replacement 99x engine, and where labor rates are today, that roller just isn't worth much, nor is there much demand. Still a dumb thing to do IMHO, though, but lots of folks with lots of lefteover dough do lots of dumb things ...when has that ever been different? Now if it were a pristine Camry roller, that would be a shame...

Yeah, but I'm sure a place like LAPD or any other Porsche dismantler would see this as a waste. And somebody needing a new door would cringe if they saw that video. Why throw away perfectly good reusable parts? I don't get the entertainment value of shooting up a car. And I'm easily entertained

It's just a waste of resources no matter how you try to interpret it.

yeah, I don't think its an argument that this isn't a waste of resources, but think about how many resources are wasted every day by all kinds of people.

The guy paid for the car, he's free to shoot it, light it on fire, or drive it off a cliff if he feels the need.

who cares really?

He can do what he wants, but why post it on YouTube?

Americans love guns and consumption. We don't care about wasting resources. We're always #1 too.

Get with the program, commie

people post epicly stupid stuff on youtube. Couldn't really tell you why, but seems to be a tradition of filming yourself being an idiot.

who knows.

Maybe it's a Porsche owner thing, and has nothing to do with nationality? Check out Hammond's piece on tonight's Top Gear.
