Default factory wheel lock....

anybody know where i can get a new or used factory wheel lock?

my new to me 993 is missing the lock..... the previous owner has no idea where it is as the tires were changed 4 years ago and the installer most likely forgot.
Need the lock to get the lock nuts off.

i corded the rear tires on my 3500km journey last week and need to install new rears asap to get back behind the wheel!

Wow, that's a bummer. Unfortunately you can't just use any wheel lock adapter because every one is unique. The only way to remove the locking lug nuts is to get the adapter that came with them. If that's lost, you're pooched. Someone is going to have to destroy them to get them off.

Good news is that you're probably not the first person in history to lose the adapter. Tire shops probably deal with this issue all the time so they ought to know what to do. But I would go to an independent Porsche shop first, as I don't trust tire shops to do anything right.

Your Porsche dealer should have a master set....there are only about 30 different keys for the wheel locks.

Mt dad and I lost the key to his car we went to the dealer and they were able to match the key and gave us the number. Then we ordered 2 from McGuard. I'm sure they would send you a new locking lug.

Nope, they were not all the same. As stated above there were many different ones.

The locks are the same type, sans the keys to fit them.

The dealer can let you know what key you need & order it for you. I lost the one to my C4S & it was $18 at the dealer. Of course 2 days later I found the key, it fell out of the tool kit & was hanging out under the spare.

contact magard (spelling??), they make the locks for Porsche.
i'll bet if you took detailed photo's of the female side of the lock, they could help you with the male side.
A friend had the same issue and they sorted him out.

PM tj90 for details

This happened to me and I needed to remove the lock nuts in an emergency. Went to Napa and borrowed a socket with threads that bite into the lug nut at an angle - can't remember the exact name for the socket. It did damage the lug nuts with bite marks but they came out in a jiffy. A life saver.
