As far as I know, there is no way to get "official" car numbers from PCNA or PAG. The only numbers I have heard are from people that had some sort of an "in" at the factory and were able to get info from someone in Germany.
Also, I believe the 26 number is based upon cars that were brought to the states, not including ROW cars.

I agree! I might get beat on this forum, but that 911 Turbo is my favorite looking 911 ever. However, I would take a 993 TT over it because of the performance.

Allright guys - Jay and I mispoke before. The number is actually 24 cars total (17 coupes and 7 cabs). Also, the info came in a letter from PCNA. Here is the info from my friend Judy Hendrickson (A wealth of all Porsche knowledge - especially 993 stuff). I've also put up the letters that go with the email.
Hi Matt,
Here are PDF's on info about quantities imported to North America by PCNA (then representing both US and Canada). My memory is off - it was 24 cars, 17 coupes and 7 cabs. Do not know how many the factory actually produced for world consumption.
I was contacted by John Ireland, who bought the press car, on June 26, 1996. At the time he was in the TV Movie making business in LA.
He told me he was inspired by the September 1995 article in PANO that Doug wrote about the order and delivery experience with our car so when the Press Car came up for auction he didn't hesitate. He was the one who sent me these documents that he received from PCNA.
PCNA - in Reno - at the time sent him the information about the history of the Press Car. That car was made in March 1994. My car was built in September 1994. 1995 model year 993's were actually in production for nearly 2 years, coming out in Germany - I think around the first of 1994 if not earlier and staying in production through July/August 1995. Many iterative minor design changes were introduced during this period, some of which were: air induction system (black snorkel that comes up from engine to meet engine lid, keyless entry/ drive block system (black plug in driver's side door handle), change in front carpet color (black to grey), sport seat design change (hard backs), 3rd brake light moved to top of rear window in coupes (by July mfg dates). This last one is usually thought to be a sure sign of a 1996 model, but I have seen at least 2 July 1995 model year 1995's with original owners that have the third brake light at the top of the rear window versus the basket handle.
By the way, I have all the magazine articles on the 993 when it was introduced as well as all the factory advertising, ordering and technical info on the car as introduced in 1994 thru our order in April of 1994 and delivery in early/mid October 1994 if anyone needs something researched.
Have fun with the info.
Judy

CorrdoBrit,
I don't know if those numbers will be available as Rivi Blue from 96-98 will be paint to sample cars. From my understanding 95 was the only year available as a standard color. I'm sure somewhere in the Porsche archives these numbers can be found.

RB is one of the nicest colors in person. I am might be biased but most people have never seen ANY model Porsche in it, let alone my RB cab. It took me over a yr to convince the seller to sell it and only reason she ever sold it was she could not longer put it in gear (Transmission failure). Fortunately, it turned out to be the circlip that holds the shift inkage on the transmission had poped out of the notch. Easy fix .
