Default Interior question? under seat....

What are the nylon straps for under the driver and passenger seats?

Also, why does my car have two layers of foot mats in both the front and rear of car? Is this factory?

And do you guy know what the factory tire pressure gauge looks like? Mine is made in taiwan?

Has 2 sets of mats because someone put one set on top of the standard mats (it does serve to keep the noise down a bit)

Lloyd only uses the clip and strap system on the earlier cars that don't have the stud in the floor pan.

Your mats should be secured with a black plastic nut.

The bottom set of floor mats in your case are not floor mats at all - they are removable carpet pieces. The factory floor mats sit on top of them.

The carpet pieces use the floor mounted stud to hold them in place. The factory Porsche floor mats were not secured by this stud - they in fact used the black nylon straps to hold them in place, sitting on top of the removable carpet pieces underneath. I believe Mark is correct in that the older Lloyd's floor mats also used the strap method to secure them (they did on my 928). These days, the Lloyd's mats use the floor stud (I just bought some).

Yup, and the shaft of the plastic nut is longer to compensate for the added thickness of the mat.
