OK, what am I missing? I have tried to read what I can using search. I have taken about everything I can off the front end, and I still cant get the differential free. It slides most of the way off the drive tube, but hits the chasis.
Any suggestions?

Have you losen the whole drive tube from the gearbox?. With the drive tube in place, I don't think that you could just slide the shaft off the tube as it would hit the trunk body cavity.

Thanks for all the help. It finally is out. It was a matter of pulling and twisting a bit harder. I obviously did not use the right swear words on the first go around.
I did not have to disconnect the drive tube thankfully.
I big thanks to cgfen for the phone call. Always great to talk with another Rennlister.
