Guys. This is becoming the funniest thread ever! JVMAX I reckon if you scratch it away a bit more you may find the original cows branding mark underneath. Heck it may even moo!

From black to brownish red now what next. Its getting more exciting by the hour :-)

Cheers

You might want to disclose in your ad that the part was dyed black at one point. That'll clear up confusion about the black residue still remaining on it...and it'll earn you some points for, you know, honesty...

With a little luck, and strong ale, I think thread is has a chance to become a classic thread in the making...

By the way, that's not black residue. This rare aluminum hand brake's fine leather was woven together by threads taken from Mr. T's mohawk. Price is now $1300. I pity the fool who misses out on buying this rare A-Team/993 piece at such a competitive price.

condition, on a table with camera flash shows all the blemishes up close, in reality in car it looks fine. One major scratch on aluminum as these tend to do this from any rings on your hand. Never see these come up for sale here as most people have the Aluminum shift **** but are missing the hand brake.

You can check my posts, I have sold a few of these aluminum shifters and ebrakes. Most people hate spending over $1200 for the set new, so when I come across these I put them for sale on here.

sounds like someone needs to get a life.

"First, your rare red ebrake is rare! and so is your interior! So as a buyer and seller of these, you never once noticed the red under the black? You then act we are stupid and say we "made you curious" to bust out a packet a dye removal to see what's underneath?

And then your like, OMG, it's the exact rare color of my interior....o fck it, na..I think it will sell it anyway all within minutes. If anyone of us had rare colors, found a marble the color of our car we would mount it in a frame and run around the house screaming."

as we can all see, this brake is not RED. Second, i was able to peel some off this off by hand, then my wife suggested finger polish removal which did the trick. The only person that needs to get off this forum is YOU for the language

so lets see here, I posted a handbrake that I thought was black and posted high quality pics. It was brought to my attention that it looked red underneath. I took a better look at it myself, and found out it was a different color. Cleaned it up and reposted it as the correct color. Not sure were the ripping off part is. All I know is that I am being accussed of dyeing a red brake lever black and my pics show it is not RED.

I did not know it was dyed until it was mentioned here and took a better look at it

I think 99% of the people on here would not believe that for a second. No one is that stupid. Well...

Fine, reddish brown, purple, pink, that's not the point.

Best of luck to you, this sell and future sells.

Too bad, I am actually looking for a black one! Regardless, if I am paying that money it will be for a new one.
