Utahrock: Thanks for the explanation. Didn't realize the 3D was so costly for larger parts. The alum is very cool. Nice work. Can you machine nuts and stoppers, too?

Yes, click on my screen name and go to my homepage and you'll see. Ouray is very nice with the ice park and all. Ice climbers are cool - no pun intended.

We could make nuts and stoppers, but there's an awful lot of them around and they've almost become generic. They've been around so long it's hard to come up with much that's new. So we try and do things that we can make with more unique features. And things that sell for a little more money so we can make our machining center payments - and let me tell you, when those suckers need to be repaired they make Ferraris seem reasonable.

Hi Utahrock. Great work. Likewise if you were to consider offsetting your investment todate for this one set you could probably find a few dozen takers on this board if the price was resonable. I for one could use a set if you did decide to make more...

That's the least expensive route and works just like the ones mentioned above. I know a car collector who stores cars and that's what they do (use insulation pads and/or have cut from that material that they use in super markets for the cashiers and baggers to stand on.) In the end this is the most cost effective (and effective period) way to do it, imho.

Because living in the mountains of Utah comes with 9-month winters and 500+ inches of snow annually... And don't get me wrong a C4S is great - but not practical when the snow comes down in feet and the plows wait until the storm is over to plow! I am envious of all those with DD Porsches!
Utahrock - great post. Thanks for sharing.
