The box is black and is by far the largest and tallest of at least 4 boxes under the passenger seat (central control, security, cruise control, amplifier). It's also the only black box, the other 3 are silver.
Take the seat out (6 Allen 6mm screws). and you'll see it. If you really want decent sound, get rid of that amplifier. your Alpine will have cleaner and better on-board amps. Or replace it with some decent low profile small 4-channel amp. Or use 2 channels and drive the rears from Alpine. And, most importantly, replace all your speakers with something that doesn't sound like Pepsi cans being crushed by Godzilla. Otherwise all of this is irrelevant.

There should still be 3 silver boxes (one seat on top of the other on outboard side, one is separate on inboard side). But, yep, no amp for regular car without HiFi option.

Hmmm, there are only 2 boxes, both silver under my pass seat. I know I don't have an amp, it would be black and most importantly, there would be heat sink fins on it.
Just installed the Blaupunkt Atlanta, and it is pretty good for the money. At least it has a rotary volume ****.
But I would like to upgrade the speakers. Someone suggested the Polk Audio DB461 for the rear and DB 521 for the front...but I'm not crazy about the look of the round 51/2" Polk 521's for the front. I would like to keep the stock grills...anyone found a solution that at least looks close to stock?

Aren't those 6 1/2" speakers Ed? I haven't measured yet, ( guess I should, but I just got up...), I thought the opening in the fronts was 5 1/2"...
They are nice and 'subtle' though, where did you buy yours? Crutchfield?

So are they basically plug and play? Or did you have to remove the door panels to do the switch...? Just curious..
And when you say 'all 4' the set included the 6 1/2" round fronts and 5x7" rears?
Thanks,
Jim
