Default Stone guard placement?

Hi all,

I'm about to install new stone guard films on the rear fenders but I forgot to write down the position of the old ones . Does anyone have a handy reference or a good pic showing the guards and their placement vs fender edge and rocker panel?

A couple of pictures and instructions from the awesome guys at this place:

I would suggest test fitting the new guards with some tape, then marking the outline with more tape. You will know when they look 'right'. About 1/4" forward from the wheel arch and 1/8" above the rocker.

Don't mean to hijack this thread (well, at least I'm sorry!), but Paul, is that Gary Moore in your avatar? I "Still Got the Blues" about him passing away recently, what a guitarist!

I installed them and I think I got the placement pretty spot on. Unfortunately it looks like something (soap or maybe dust?) was left under the film and they look bit untidy. I'll check them again once the car has dried and re-do them if needed. One step forwards, two steps...

the soap used in the slip solution will disappear, assuming that's what it is.
Hopefully that is it!

Yes it is. One of my all time guitar hero's.

I have had better luck using 50% denatured alcohol and 50% water as slip solution, this mixture wil not leave "haze" underneath the film on darker paints like the soap can do.

you must be good... the alcohol really accelerates the adhesive!

Forgot to mention, I have used the red stuff used for camping stoves.

I have mainly used the 3M protection film and have never had problems with the alcohol ruining the adhesive.
Used to have this as a profession many moons ago so I know what i am talking about

BTW, the golden rod is working like a charm Mark, thank you for a great product.
