So I've removed the driver seat from my car to install the chip. Does anyone swap out the seat with a race shell for the track on a regular basis? Do race seats come with sliders so all you need to do is bolt out, bolt in?

swftiii used to swap out his race seats for his street seats on a regular basis. PM him for details (he's a very good friend of mine).
You can certainly put sliders under you race seats if you want. I think it's better to have fixed seats, but I run sliders so that different people can drive my car. I use the Sparco sliders.

Hey, Rick,
The sliders do make it an easy swap on/swap out procedure.
Be sure to read this: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...cage-pics.html Keep in mind that the width of your seat may preclude the need for spacers as well as the need to modify the Sparco seat release tube/lever. PM me if you need further details.

i swap between stock seats and Sparco's on sliders in ~ 25 minutes.
That includes installing the harnesses on both sides.
buy several spare mounting bolts since the factory ones tend to be very soft, i use aftermarket black oxide coated BHCS to ensure clearance.
i also find using a long handled 5mm driver to noticeably ease install / removal of the fasteners.
have fun

Thanks for the replies. As you guys can see from my last couple of threads, my slope is taking a trackwise turn...
So now I need:
Seat with sliders
Adjustable sway bars
r compound tires
Will a race seat work with the stock seatbelts?

Stock belts can work, but the way in which the belts route over the sides of the seat does not seem ideal. When my car had the GT3 seats, I kept the stock belts to run on the street. Now, with my Recaro Pro Racer seat, I use the harnesses, having ditched the stock belts.

First time I swapped seats like in 2 hours. Now in 30 mins. Sometimes struggle with some nuts hard to reach.

I think the best solution for a dual purpose car are the Euro GT3 seats. Here are details about my installation:

yeah, I'd love a set of GT3 seats, except that a sparco is like $350 + sliders, and then I can switch back to stock in about a half hour...I'll spend the other $5K on suspension parts.

Call me contrarian, but I get nervous when I hear about safety upgrades on the cheap in order to spend more money on modifications to the car. We've got evidence right in front of us from last weekend on how things can go horribly wrong (DeMan @ VIR in the Continental race); I've got my own rollover (as a passenger) to reflect on from late last year.
I get that spend, spend, spend on safety gear isn't the answer in and of itself. I'd recommend consulting, in person, with someone versed on track prep from a sanctioning body tech standpoint. After all these years, I know full well where I'm cutting corners from max prep, and I accept that risk. For new guys, I encourage them to start the right way.
