Default Help! Help! My 993 left me stranded.

Turn the key at first and got one single click, as I turned the key .. It did this a few times!

Now nothing.

I replaced the relay, tried my spare remote and key, and I tried jumping the car. I get nothing but lights on the dash.

I made sure my battery cables all had a good connection.

Ideas????

I have had two batteries die on me in my history and the symptoms sound the same. How old is your battery?

I would think that a bad battery would do more when you jumped it. I'm going for starter and/or starter solenoid.

I'm thinking starter solenoid. I will jack it and give the starter a few taps.

Can you push start the 993?

Since the lights are on in the dash, it can't be the battery. You have juice, but none of it is getting to the starter. Probably the starter solenoid. I've had that happen in other cars with exactly the same symptoms.

Oh wow I'm not alone on this one! My fathers wrangler had the same issues, everything lights up, get a click, but nothing. Turns out it was the starter......

When you press the remote, is the immobilizer light going off before you try to start it?

Yes and the door lights flash as well.

In the past , if I didn't remove the key from the ignition in the off position... It would start without pushing the button no matter how long it was.

Sure. A manual transmission one, anyway.

Sure. I've push started mine a few times when I had a weak battery and a ground leak. Make sure you cycle the immobilizer first or it won't start. Put it in 3rd gear, wait until you reach 5-8 mph and pop the clutch. get ready to blip the accelerator as it attempts to start.

Sounds like a dead battery or a stuck solenoid.
