Surprised no one mentioned the great guys over at FD Motorsports. I just ordered valve cover gaskets from them, new bolts and about a dozen of these washers. They were very cheap.

22 x 27x 1.5 mm. Sounds like Porsche hasn't changed the size for many years.

Oil tank and sump plug on SC's and Carreras is the same size.

Pelican: 900-123-118-30-M131 Crush Washer for Oil Drain Plug, 911 Carrera 2/4 (1989-1998), 911 Turbo (1989-98), Each [More Info]
Brand: Fischer & Plath. Oil Drain Plug Washers. $0.25

Like Mike and Ed, I have re-used these ALU crush seals over and over; just don't "reef" on them.

But, since they're cheap, new ones sound good.

The newer cars are either 18x22 (m96/97), 22x27 (turbo crank), or 20x26 (turbo res). Have a dozen of each of those three sizes on hand and you can have the correct drain plug sizes for any Porsche ever made. 22x27 was used almost exclusively up through the 993.

I removed all of the stupid crush washers on my car and simply use Teflon tape.

It made sense from a weight-savings standpoint.

In a pinch, just use a sheet of emery paper, 320 grit or finer, on a flat surface and burnish the washers on both sides until you don't see any obvious grooves.
