Default FS: Black hood crests (2)

I've made a number of these for Rennlisters over the years, using original hood crests. I carefully bead blast the crests, leaving only the metal stamping. The crests are then cleaned and painted with a self-etching primer. I follow with four layers of high-temp low-gloss black.

If you're interested in having this 'conversion' done to an existing crest, feel free to contact me via PM. The cost is very reasonable.

Both of these crests (996.559.211.01) were recently purchased in near-perfect condition.

I'm selling these for $100 each, shipped within the US. PayPal is preferred.

Completely bead blasted (example):

They look great! If I didn't have an (OEM ) silver crest I'd be all over one of these. GLWS!

Looks very good. I also have the OEM Silver Crest (just like ilko) on the Turbo.

What is "etch primed" mean?

Porsche actually made these as OEM once. Along with the silver crest option years ago.

sorry, couldn't help it.

Andreas, nice job.
imho, it would look great on a black 993 or an AR.

A metal primer that etches the surface, rather than simply drying on the surface. Or so I understand it.

I have one also courtesy of Andreas.. However, mine is attached to the Con Rod Fan Clock. The quality as expected is flawless. Very nice piece.

Andreas, is it true that these will help us evade radar, since the black badge absorbs the beam?

Such kind words.

My surface treatment is designed such that any radar gun within a 30-mile radius will be rendered useless for a period of at least 24 hours.
I'm working on a revised paint-layering formula that will force highway patrolman to clear traffic for you. Stay tuned.

Now that's just ridiculous!

Some say his skin has the texture of a dolphin's, and that wherever you are in the world, if you tune your radio to 88.4, you can actually hear his thoughts... all we know is, he's called AOW

I heard that it also makes the car invisible to police radar / laser guns

Radar, yes. As for Laser, I'm working on a beam-shifting primer.
