Hi
These are the plastic cup that are used in the front rod of the shifter assembly.
They are $12.75 from Pelican and 2 are required front and back
2 x 928 116 145 03 M100 Clutch Leaver Ball Cap- $12.75.
Thanks

The one on the left sure looks familiar. I've just found quite a few sites offering universal joints of all types. This could be next winter's project. I have a spare shift rod from a local owner who installed the Carnewal set-up.

TOTALLY IN MY WISH LIST!
I notice that the short shift kit replaces the forward rod (which OEM part is press-fit and gets sloppy over the years) and NOT the golden rod. I wonder if its worth just replacing everything, its confusing. Fister makes it sound like short shift kit takes care of everything, despite not having the "golden rod".

I did it all at the same time - it only makes sense as you're right there and already have everything apart. To me doing one without the other is just doing half the job. The way I read it when I ordered everything was that the short shift kit takes care of everything to shorten the throw of the shift - the golden rod doesn't shorten anything, it just tightens it up by eliminating that sloppy old cracked rubber joint.
