Default Dach Sport Cat with RSR's or FD StgII's?

I'll be installing a Dach Sport Cat shortly and wondering which muffs sounds best with these pipes.... the RSR's or FD Stg 2's? I've heard Juha's clip on YT but I know those sound bites don't really reflect the sound in person. Anyone with firsthand experience? I'm looking for throaty not raspy. I've had both designs on my car with the stock cat and currently have the Stg 2's installed. To my ear this was the best sounding option, plus the slight backfire on deceleration really adds to the symphony. Does the SC retain this feature?

I haven't heard the fister stg2's but the RSR's are definately raspy and not throaty at all.

Thumbs up

I've got the Fister stage II's with the FabSpeed sport cats. Everyones ear for exhaust sounds is very different. With that said, I believe the sound is a deep throaty sound. At 3000 rpm, the sounds that come out of Darin's mufflers are amazing.

Default FD Motorsports...

I traded in my RSRs for FD Motorsport Stage III; nothing wrong with the RSRs, just wanted a new sound. Great improvement IMHO. By now I have had nearly every muffler known to fellow Porsche Geeks:
1. B&B
2. Porsche Sound Package mufflers
3. RSR (2 sets)
4. Fabspeed Super Cups (2 sets)
5. FD Motorsports Stage III with RSR
6. FD Motorsports Stage I with Fabspeed 200 Cell cats and X pipe

My most recent muffler experiment #6, I went to Fabspeed 200 cell sport cats with Fabspeed X pipe...wanting to keep the noise to a point where I could make sound at Laguna Seca
(92 dB), I swapped out the Stage III mufflers for FD Motorsport Stage I mufflers. BTW, the fit and finish, as well as the service was first class from Fabspeed, everything arrived as promised. FD Motorsports, their products are incredible...for me 2 sets of mufflers, Platinum shifting rod (Sorry boys NLA), SSK installed by Darin along with the shifting rod.

Good God Almighty, what a sound...once again IMHO, the Fabspeed 200 Cell cats mated to the FD Stage I mufflers...this is the best of all possible worlds. At Sears Point, the last corner which is approached along a concrete wall, the downshift sound, from 4th to 3rd to 2nd....nearly made me cry it was so beautiful, an aural symphony.

So thanks to Darin @ FD Motorsports and Joe Fabiani & Alex at Fabspeed for making my day/week/month/year...why they have changed my life. I am making no more muffler and cat changes; this is it!

Yes, I went from Stage II to Stage III's just in the last couple weeks. Both are great options, but III's give you that music all through the RPM levels.

I believe you can't go wrong with the Stage II or III. Not to say anything against the RSR, because I haven't owned them.

I've had both RSR's and StgII's on my car and will be adding Dach 200 cell Sport Cats to the mix. I know I'll be trying the StgII's first. I have a feeling StgIII's would be WAYYY too much......

No, just humorless and over-sensitive.

Carry on.
