Default Difference between a manual Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 shift ****/boot?

I'm looking to order a new shifter for my car.

I called sunset porsche and they said there's a difference in price btwn the c2 and c4 shifters. i asked them if there's a mechanical difference, and they couldnt answer me. does anyone in here know?

also aesthetically, does the c4 just have a silver shift pattern?

ideally i would like a black **** with a silver pattern. all help is appreciated!

thanks,

Robby

Pretty sure the only difference is visual: black shift pattern/centre on C2, silver on C4.

I replaced the stock tan shift ****/boot in my C2 with this one which I believe is the C4 (and maybe also turbo) version. Not only is the insert silver but the **** is larger and is weighted. I like the feel. Unfortunately, I do not have the PN.

ahh thats the exact one i want! and the fact that it's weighted would explain the price difference between the two! thanks so much!

^That's the aluminum/leather shifter. Available as option from the factory or as a dealer accessory.
Usually paired with the Aluminum/leather brake handle.

The other option would be to purchase a 996 gt3 shifter or carbon unit and use your old boot as the base. I purchased a carbon/leather unit and installed my old boot. Looks and feels great.
Total cost was 150 for the 996 shifter ****.
I could post some pics if anyone is interested.

Of course if you wait, next year they will be around 800 bucks.

I have the same round **** in my cab. Not a fan as the sift pattern insert sticks a bit out making it rougher than I like.

My Miata has a perfect round heavy shifter (Voodoo for those familiar with Miata). it costs $40 and feels infinitely better than the $600-800 P-****.

Regarding matching aluminum brake... have that too. Get ugly hot in summer heat. And we are talking Boston, not even Cali or Florida. What am I sayin' here? Consider carefully before spending this kind of money on bling. My current cab came with those items, so I don't feel too bad.
