Default WTB 993 C2S

Ok...so I usually wouldn't put up a post asking where to find a good car, but given what I've seen in the market recently I figured it wouldn't be a bad thing.

This is the best air cooled Porsche community on the planet so I figured why not see if someone knows of a great car out there.

Looking for Silver or Blue...

Thanks guys!

Did you look at Sloan Cars? Two very nice silver C2S with low miles for $60 ('97) and $70 k ('98).

I did...but it pains me to deal with "Sloan pricing" as he typically just takes in a car on consignment and throws a mega number against it.

Always have preferred buying from a fellow enthusiast who has "skin" in the game so to say.

Can't always happen that way, but by letting my fellow RLer's know I'm looking, it betters the odds.

Owner is a great guy, but the car has paintwork on the left front quarter (blend lines visible), needs the rear bumper sprayed (cracking badly behind left rear wheel), wheels need to be refinished due to some rash, and the sports seats were modified to have a harness (it was done well, but I balk a bit at a modded OEM sport seat).

Worst part is the right rear quarter was painted and the shop didn't remove the 3M protection on the fender. They painted over it!! The left side is clear and the right is painted silver? Would need to be removed and the entire fender repainted.

Excellence magazine has a nice online ad section...I'm typing this from my phone or I'd copy and paste a link.

That ebay ad says mint, sure doesn't sound it from your description.

It apparently is not unusual to have one clear, one body color stone guard on these cars. Mine is clear on pass sied, Arctic Silver on driver side. Not sure if they are original, since car has had work done...but many mentions of mixed stone guards here.

Best of luck with your search...what specifics-use, Queen or driver, mileage, money, mods, and options?

There is usually no shortage of cars available, just a very small pool of desireable ones depending on what your looking for.

Silver C2S is for sale by mmazzone44 on rennlist. You can PM me if you want some more details as I have talked with the owner.

Premier Sports cars also has silver 97 C4S for sale. It does have a Softronic ECU program which may be hard to get serviced.

Truspeed has 2 silver 993's for sale. Did not get into detailed discussions on either one.

I think right now finding one from the owner rather than a dealer is somewhat tough.

Thanks for all the feedback guys...really appreciate it.

I reached out via email regarding the blue car in WI...we'll see what the story is with that one. I'm not confident given the pictures are from 2009, no interior shots, and the model designation on the rear decklid is in the worng location. TBD

I just sent you a PM il pirata...thanks for the info.

my advice:
Get a nice NB before they're impossible to find.
Enjoy it while you search for your unicorn.

I previously owned the 1998 Silver C2S that Sloan has listed. It is a very nice car with a Bilstein suspension. Sloan has had it listed for more than a year, so if you are interested I would not hesitate to make him a low offer. He comes off of his prices quite a bit, whereas some of the other high-end dealers do not.

Good luck with your search!

I had a really nice bone stock, original paint, 1998 C2S in Ocean Metallic Blue with 50k miles that I sold a few months ago to a PCA member in Montreal for $42,500. And I'm 15 minutes from the OP. Oh well.
