I just test drove that C4S today. It drove very tight and their master mechanic just did about 5k of work. I have a thread about this car. The engine was replaced in 2006 with a used engine that had 45k miles, but it was all documented. The entire left side was repainted, and the door strap was broken on driver's side. A little birdie told me that it was hit in the front and rear. It still showed nice and drove nice too, it had LWF, Fabspeed short shift kit. It also had cigarette burns on the carpet. I hate that. It still might be a good drivers car though. Just too many question marks for me to get into.

really! all that wrong and still priced in the mid forties...that's nuts.

I paid much less for my 63k mile 97 C4S than that. That car is $7K anyway, overpriced.

Keep looking. If your willing/able to spend $45k you'll have many choices.

I'm not really in the market right now, but seeing it was local and it was 10 minutes away I figured I'd check it out. I hear you on the price. It sounded as if they would consider a straight up trade for my C4 cab, after I pulled of all the goodies. Still, it would be tough for me to sell in the future and explain to someone looking at it. Even at 30-35k it would be tough.

Interesting. I too in the back of my head have been toying with switching from an NB cab to an S body, prob non-turbo ($$ decision only). Didn't realize the S's were priced so much higher...

Yup, crazy ain't it? There are many nice coupes on Rennlist right now that are for sale. If I really do decide to go for a coupe I would consider one of them. The car had nice upgrades and drove really nice, but there will always be the questionable history that I would have to live with. Plus I can't wait to drop the top on my cab as soon as the weather breaks!! Franklin, we should all have a get together when the roads get clear. Ryan from RI also has a C4S, and I'm sure there are a few more people who would want to meet up. I will be going to the Newport Concours again this year if they have it. I went last year at the end of May and it was a great time. Lots of nice P-cars, MB, Ferraris, etc.

From what I've heard there is a very shady story associated with this company, the source of their cars and the actual condition. Tread carefully

Guys-- The Spring Tour which is run by PCA Northeast is set for Sunday, 3/27. Annual 50 mile run through curvy back roads west of Boston, and ending with a lunch at a Chinese place. Great annual event and kickoff to the Spring driving season. More info can be found here: http://www.porschenet.com/JCMS/compo...27/Itemid,137/

Sounds like a good time. If I can get my car out of storage and ready to go I'd like to try to get up there.

To OP and deadhead,

I am not affiliated with seller or business just called them about a C4S and they tried to sell me a C2S.

Yes-price is way too high.
A get together would be great. There's a buddy of mine nearby in Mass with a C4S who'd be game as well.
