I use a heat gun on the gasket material - seems to work well.

Wow. Way too much effort. Simply order a 911 (not 993) gasket. It is just a touch larger and it took me about 10 seconds to install. Sorry, don't have the part number.

There is only one gasket 7L5853611B fits all cars except some Cayenne, 356 and 991
