Default Replacing check valve on a friends car...the 2nd time is not a charm...ideas please

So, last summer I did my first check valve replacement on my car. It wasn't fun but it went pretty much like I had read. I ended up using both a crows foot and a method where i put a socket inside the top of the valve and then clamped a vice grip on it. It finally came out.

Well, this second time is not a charm. The check valve will not budge using either method. Now, it is so badly bent up, I cannot get the crows foot on it any more. I went ahead and decided to just remove tho whole check valve manifold (as I have done before) but I cannot get one of the 17mm nuts to release because the valve is still in the way. I have tried everything that worked before but this one just isn't coming. I am about to just start dremmeling down to the bottom of it so I can get a socket or crows foot back on it...or at least give myself enough room to get the other 17mm nut off the metal tube so I can just remove the whole manifold...

I have quit for the night because I am beyond frustrated. If anyone has any ideas that would be worth trying, I am all ears! Thanks.

You've got the right next steps... dremel it off then use a socket. Just make sure to tighten that one 17mm bolt you loosened on the distribution manifold before you begin wrenching on the check valve.

I have this tool in my arsenal from previous plumbing work around the house - I could see it being a big help with SAI valve removal:

Andreas - how would you use that tool to aid in SAI valve removal? Where might I pick one up? Thx.

Interesting that the second one is such a bitch- the cars are essentially the exact same age as they are 1 number apart on their VIN, and Joe's car has about 1/2 the mileage! Of course those pesky German engineers put the damned thing in such an easy location.... NOT!!
Sleep on it son or you will drive yourself nuts!! Ask me how I know...

It was just a thought, as the head flips in either direction, and the jaw is spring loaded to grab tight. I purchased mine years ago from Home Depot.

Dremel it. It's not as hard as you think. I used a small circular cutter and boy did it feel good when I got a socket on it and broke it free. Try a little anti-sieze on the new one too.

Did you just work your way around the base until you could get a socket on it?
