Barney....Deal Done.....
Well today Ben flew in from Colorado to give Barney a look see. When I took off the car cover his face was worth a million bucks!!! After a look over, we went for a blast. First we took it slow at 10 psi and Ben said " Oh man" . I said "Ben, that's low boost, we selected the 15.5 psi and his eye ***** were sticking out of the back of his head.....I have to say it felt great to be in the pasenger seat and feel that car MPH like it did. Then ben said "SOLD". Ben is a stand up guy and a pleasure to meet and deal with. The truck should be here in a few day's and Ben can enjoy Barney as much as I did. Thanks again guys for all of your support, and Ben, great meeting you, keep the PICS coming.

Sweet infant baby Jesus that's a beautiful car.
Congratulations Ben! I believe you are now the envy of many RL'ers here-the others are simply handcrafting voo doo dolls in your likeness.
Need a nice pic of Barney with snow covered mtn's in the background now-if you can find them when you get back home...clean and dry roads below naturally.

Similar story with a guy here, on our local racer/track guy email list. Guess he's always wanted a 911, so he pops up first of the week asking about 996 GT3s. I point him toward 997s, either GT3 or Turbo as I think there really isn't much more long term cost and the car is so much nicer. (Yeah, higher price of entry; you'll get it on the back end.) Then I remember the RUF outfit out of Dallas had a 996 Turbo conversion. Refer him to it, and damned if he's not flying to Dallas with a buddy Saturday to pick it up!

I'm coming into the game pretty blind here, but ... you sold the car to Ben? Why?
Congrats to you both.
What are you getting next and if I may ask, why did you sell it? I must have missed earlier posts since I've been pretty busy lately with life.
How many purple 993 TT's are there out there? Just yours?
Cool story all around, if I'm understanding it correctly.

This would be one cool road trip back to Colorado in that car. I'd drive it instead of trucking it. Drove both my cabs home to Boston. One from SF, one from Cleveland. it's good to bond with a car like this, see the scenery and enjoy life for a few days.
Having said that. congrats to both of you, guys! Good to see two stand-up R'listers both get a good deal and be happy.

Mike, Thanks again! I was a pleasure and an honor meeting you and Barney. The car is an absolute perfect blend of beauty while still being a "driver". I am not a garage queen type of owner, so it will be perfect! I didn't think it could be possible, but my 356 just MIGHT get driven less now.
I'll keep the pics coming when I can and there MIGHT be a chance that Plycar can/will pick it up this weekend. I'll let you know.

~300 days of sun per year in Colorado...finding snow capped peaks with dry roads and the sun shining is very common.....I'll see what I can do for everyone!

I'm sure it's been asked before...but did that car come from the factory with that color? I have always heard that Porsche will "paint to sample"....did you send them a Barney stuffed toy... I love these cars in unique colors like that.
