Default Door Pocket Lid Does not Stay Up

The hinge broke off from the lid. Do I need to buy the hinge (numbered 27 in the picture) and somehow attach it to the lid or do I need to buy the lid (22) and it will come with the hinge attached?

I've seen the hinge priced at $20.50. Any idea how to attach it to the lid?

To may need one or the other. #27 indeed makes the lid stay open, but on the underside of the door pocket flap is a notch cut out. Look inside the notch and you will see a metal ring. #27 hooks to this ring. If that ring is broken (which happens alot) you'll need a new flap. Test your current #27 and see if works and or is attached to the flap

The ring is off and is hanging on the rod part of #27. So sounds like I need a flap. How do I test #27?

The rod that attaches to the hook is how to test. Look at the passenger side to see how it functions. Hold tight on the rod and your hand will act as a flap. I would bet that the #27 is fine. Get with DC automotive for a used one. I think the new ones are pricey.

Paid around $110 from the dealer about a year ago for a vinyl one. If you have leather hold on to your wallet!

I knew they were high. Mine still flaps as I couldn't source a used one. I am sure the drivers side is a tough one to find.

The rod for #27 on the passenger side points towards the back of the car (this one is not broken) and the one on the driver's side points towards the outside. Is this the way it should be?

That ring is a permanent part of 22. Replace 22 and you are golden. Just went through an identical repair.

Hi Proj993. I am having the same problem you had back in 2011. Do you remember how you resolved this issue? Did you have to buy the lid (22) or were you able to make do with just the hinge (27)? Thanks.
