Default Road trip prep, AKA dark colors are a beyotch!

Well, not that bad....actually a dusting between washes is pretty effective up to now.

We're going to put 1000 miles on her during a 4 day trip up the coast this Friday to Half Moon Bay. I've been putting off waxing her for the 5 weeks I've owned her, in order to get a known quantity in the paint protection area.

So, yesterday, a thorough washing, a polishing with the orbital and a coat of wax. She shines pretty well! I didn't really want to spend the time to do this, and then hit the road, but then again, I didn't want to drive that far without knowing she had some coating. She'll be easier to wash when we get home too.

Can't wait for the trip!

The weather should be pretty decent for you. Car looks great.

1000 miles in four days is great in a 993. We've taken the cab up to Carmel for a 4 day visit each of the last three August's for car week. San Diego to Ocean Ave. is something pretty close to 450 miles (the last 90 from Cambria up HWY 1 are the best.)

Have fun and take some cool, coastal, car pics.

Thanks! We've got our reservations for car week this summer. It'll be nice not trailering the 911.

Looks like glass, beautiful. Can I ask what polish and wax you use?

Is that years of knowing how to use a orbital or can a newbie like
myself pick that up?

Have a nice trip Ed. Post a pic of the bug casualties on the front bumper when you get there.

Thank you. That is not any special talent or experience-the random orbital seems to be foolproof. That is Griot's #3 and their "Best of Show" wax. There are, I'm sure others with more knowledge who would say there are better products, but they seem to work well for me.

I've got a bra that came with the car....I'm toying with the idea of putting it on. I also wonder how well that spray on or wipe on stuff works?

She's 16, Ed.
Time for a bra.

Seriously, I think you'll enjoy the trip even more, knowing there's no damage up front.

Only "training bras" before then huh?

Never quite understood the concept of "training bras", what are they training and why do they need training??

Good point. I wonder what I have to do to put it on? On my 911, I have one for the track, it does require adjusting the latch to put the portion on the lid, as the lid dies not quite close as far. I've not even looked at the one with the 993. I guess I'll check it out before we go. This is what sucks about travelling for work all the time-never being home and having a normal life!!!

Car looks ready to roll Ed. Looking good.

What's cooking in HMB? Any spare time to meet local RL'ers?

Remember, no tickets, no wrecks = great road trip! Enjoy.

Nothing special, probably just hanging at the hotel when we get in Saturday. Sunday, my family is coming over from Sta Clara. Probably not much time this go.

But, we are headed to Monterey in August for car week.
