And I tip my hat to the seller for saying the price is "firm" in this super-soft market.
Sounds like his wife wants him to sell it

Price speculation on this board should have it's own forum. It's that entertaining to me at least.

A guy named Evan owns the car. He actually bought two cars at same time, black 993 and this one. He sold the black one and knowing what he got on that one, gives him plenty of time to TRY and get his 40k price while he enjoys driving it at the same time.

For the price speculation, right or wrong or indifferent, he's gotten strong number offers for the car. Nothing to do with the interior color and higher than mentioned here. Offers I feel I would be happy to sell at. But that's life, his car, his decision. As a 993 owner, I hope he gets his 40k number.

Consenting adults, and all that ... good luck to him. It looks like a nice example. But for $5k less you can have my 97 cab with Bilstein HD/M030, LWF and RS clutch, MY02 rims and the top end already done for you. I think there are numerous other cars to consider at that price point.

I agree. He is holding out for that one buyer, as is Holt and Truspeed. They do sell cars and so will he regardless of anyones speculation. If I had to choose between yours or his though I would be the proud owner of a new cab.

Default In Sweden

In Sweden cars are more expensive but I did see a 993 95 some weeks ago at a whopping $57,000.
It sold and was not as sorted as mine is. It also had more miles-mine is at 61k.
Makes me think of selling mine and importing a 993tt. The only problem is -as owner since 96-I would never sell part of the family!
Here - price = need. Swedes do love the 993 as they are hard to find-as far as I can see.
When I brought mine into the country-the dock master offered me on the spot-$45,000. I was not interested and could not sell it for one year anyhow!
When importing for household personal use-you have to wait one year to sell a car.

Bought my manual C2 coupe with <25,000 miles, upgraded suspension, exhaust and wheels for $37,000 18 months ago. Can't get much lower mileage--and it was very clean with all records.

I'd say if you really want it go in at least $5-7K low. Good luck

I purchased my 96 C4 from Holt because I wanted to get as close to perfect as I thought I could get and he had the car. Yes, I did pay a little more than others but the market was much better in '07 than right now. As for getting what you pay for...I couldn't agree more. Not one issue in 4 years of ownership.

I am curious to see what the Silver 95 C2 goes for because I have been thinking about selling my car to free a little more money up for a second home purchase. My car is very similar to the ebay car except better color combo in my opinion. I would never claim concourse unless it has competed in one but I would put mine against his everyday. Black/Black, 27,800k, 18" Hollow Spokes, 2 owner, supporting paperwork, completely stock except for a Techart shift ***.
If seller gets the $40k or close it would get me thinking seriously about selling.

I've seen that car listed in several places (CL, etc.) Edit: Just found it: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/2170040201.html

If you want someone to lay eyes on it, I suggest a post on the PNW forum on Pelican.

I'd go look at it for you, but I won't have time on my next trip to Portland. Sorry.

I like the color combo!

That would be a mistake if it were true. The only way he might get $40k for that car is if the miles stay as low as they are.

I've not been on this site much but just spoke to someone who told me there's an entire conversation going on about my car and of course i had to see what was what. After reading the comments i'd like to just say that yes, i realize the price is a few grand high, in fact i even mention that in one of my ads. Its on CL and Ebay and i've rewritten the ads a few times. I'd spent six months searching for a truly mint 993 so when i found this one, even though the price was high, i bought it. I agree with the member who said that simply because i paid 40 doesn't make it worth 40. But, for me, since i did pay 40 and immediately put new tires all around, 30K major service, new porsche mats, new lloyds mats etc etc i've got 43 into it and so yes, i'm hoping for that right buyer. I've had some seemingly serious interest in the car and yes i realize that the more i drive it the less it'll be worth but how can one NOT drive this car? It is by far the most fun 911 i've ever owned. I did have a 96 Black/Black 993 C2 that was sweet, VarioRam, sounded fantastic but honestly this 95 is just more of a pleasure to drive and it is sorted. An upgraded suspension and maybe maybe changing out that stock Porsche Cassette deck would be the only things i'd think to now do on it. I don't actually want to sell it in case thats not already clear? Ha! But sell i should as I was recently laid off, so it goes. I have thought hard about the two sorta offers i've had of $39 that is awfully close...

Also, i forgot to mention, if anyone has any questions on this 993 i'd be happy to answer them. Meanwhile i just finished waxing it for a second time this week, it is sparkling like new! ;-)

This makes me feel like I gave away my super nice 4s with 25k miles for $44,000 in the summer.

I would never tell another person what they should sell for their car for, but in this case...take the money...and run
